Have a Cool Yule & Swingin' New Year!

Can you all believe that 2009 has passed us by so quickly? I'm amazed that we're on the cusp of 2010 in the blink of an eye, I say, stop blinking! I'm optimistic as I look forward to the upcoming year and plan to jump into my art and create like a madwoman; something I haven't allowed myself to do for a long, long time. Here's wishing you all a real "Cool Yule" (as per Brian Setzer's words on his swingin' Christmas CD playing at the moment!) Make the New Year everything you want it to be, dig your art and make it happen while surrounding yourself with positive amazing people that enrich your life and encourage and lift you up, as you do them! We're all really blessed, and never forget, life is cool, dig it!

Cool Canvas Project

Love this project! These are pictures of my Mom and Dad reproduced on a transparency. You utilize the back of a canvas, using the center as a shallow shadow box. then affix the transparency to the top and voila'.

Check out the Marilyn Monroe I did***
All of these are on display at the Scrapping Lounge!

3 More Christmas Tags!

Here's 3 more tags for a grand total of 8! I have 4 to go Gang! As you can see, I am doing some of Tim Holtz' ideas along with coming up with some of my own. It's all about finding your creative mojo and following that bliss! I'll post the rest of the tags as I finish them...then what to do with them? Stay tuned...can you say canvas...? I KNOW!

5 Tags of Christmas

Okay, here's some creative stuff to look at for now...I just finished these 5 tags and will work on a few more before Christmas hits. My crafty friend in crime, Toni, was doing Tim Holtz "12 Tags of Christmas", which inspired me to loosly follow suit. I did my own version a bit behind the masses, but I love the results! Take a looky!

I Have Finally Landed on All Fours...

To create this long overdue blog Gang! Whew, sorry it took so long; and please bear with me as I set out on my journey to create it and showcase my art, adventures and musings that insist on popping outta my head and into the real world for all to see! Currently, I am the owner of my own scrapbook supply store, Scrapping Lounge http://www.scrappinglounge.com/ in Montclair, California. I am having such a blast living my bliss and being able to craft and create my art at will while I man the store. Tough job, but someone's gotta do it! Prior to this awesome calling, I worked for many years in finance, then worked in my family's metal finishing business for 7 years, and now my own business. Let me tell you, there's nothing like being self-employed...no one telling you what to do (or anyone to listen to you), you can keep your own hours (12-14 hour days, 7 days/week), pay yourself what you want (if I made anything..can vary), benefits like insurance (paid for by me when I can afford it...don't get sick!), 401K (yeah, right, what savings?). Most of all, I do this for the freedom to create and the love of art and the wonderful people it attracts. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Stay tuned Gang...this blogging thing is cool.
